Wonderful place to stay in Anchorage! Picturesque location on the lake with seaplanes flying in and out. Hotel offered restaurant that was very good and the rooms were large and clean.

beautiful location, clean rooms, Safe environment. Friendly Front desk. the 1 star is for not having responsible room service and maintainance staff. requested Pack and play for my 9 months old and a microwave to warm up milk for 2 years old at 4 PM and I kept calling front desk for 2 hours. went down twice in person and front desk made their call each time but they delivered it at 6:45 pm. 1 of my child was hungry for 2 hours and 1 was restless. There is nothing they can do to compensate those 2 hours. As a parent I will never recommend this place for family stay. After spending more than $300 this should be otherwise. I can get a hotel for $70 if I have to deal with this.

We had balcony room with direct view of lake and watched float planes land & take off.

This hotel’s location was perfect for our stay—close to the airport yet quiet, beautiful lakefront property, and easy to drive to downtown and main attractions. The lobby welcomed you with mounted Alaskan animals and groupings of chairs to meet with others. The bed was comfy and the room had a long bar that was handy. We would definitely stay here again!

The service. The hospitality. The location. Alaska was amazing in itself but the lakefront hotel put it over the top for the wife and I. Everyone from the front staff to the shuttle rides downtown were excellent customer service. The wait staff in the restaurant were fabulous and the food was good too. My only complaint is I had to leave

Overall, The hotel is ideally located due to its proximity to the airport and the relative closeness to downtown. Once you get used to the noise from the airport at night you should have no difficulty procuring a good nights sleep. I was surprised by the efficiency of the sound dimming of the windows (we were located Lakeside) as well as the efficiency of the blackout drapery.

I have no complaints about the room, but it was not cleaned once during our five night stay. If that is your policy, there should be a sign stating so in the room. I assume housekeeping is available upon request. If we had needed additional supplies, I would have called the desk, but we did not. I was also surprised the room did not include a microwave and a refrigerator. Those seem to be standard in all decent rooms these days.

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Lakefront overall as the rooms were spacious, updated, clean, and quiet (minus the seaplanes but we didn't mind). Hotel staff were affable and helpful and we appreciated the quick service at check in and check out. We love that it was close to the airport and there were restaurants available in the hotel.Unfortunately, service at the Fancy Moose restaurant was inconsistent. We were not greeted or helped for at least 10 minutes when we arrived and when we were helped we were given different menus from other guests and didn't have all options available. When this was addressed, there was no resolve. We also got a grilled chicken that smelled terrible at the char marks, probably due to a dirty grill. Filip was a wonderful server though and I appreciate that he was attentive one his shift started and did his best to meet our needs. The Flying Machine restaurant staff was very attentive and helpful, we enjoyed our experience there. And unfortunately we weren't able to board the shuttle at the airport with our kids in tow as many people (mostly single men that didn't take notice of our family of four) got on before and the driver said he could not fit us even though we were waiting first in line. We ended up taking an uber which we didn't anticipate.I'm not sure we'll stay here again while our kids are so little but perhaps when they're a bit older. Great hotel overall for couples and families with older kids but tough for families with little ones.

Enjoyed our stay here over the last days of our trip to Alaska. Being older and have done a lot over the prior days we needed to wind down and this was a great place to do this. Great food, relaxing watching the planes take off of the lake, and just plane resting. I would highly recommend it to all who need a place to stay.

Location wise - good vicinity to the airport, train station, downtown and waterfront view to see floating planes. Rooms are spacious but didn't look properly cleaned - there was dust everywhere, coffee maker was dirty, tissue roll holder was broken, bath tub insert moved a bit while taking shower. The thermostat on wall is only for heat regulation. One needs to use the AC vent for cooling and fan. Parking permit (provided during check-in) is needed to park your vehicle in the hotel parking lot.

Beautiful grand entryway, well stocked bar, and relatively modern rooms. The linens were very high quality and the beds comfortable. The property managers have done well to try to maintain the property, though some issues still remain. The floor can be a bit creaky, the bathtub inserts can shift a little bit while you're in the shower, and you have a window air conditioning unit. Overall, it is a good value considering proximity to the airport, downtown, and partial lakefront views. I would consider staying again if reasonably discounted front other nearby hotels.
