Decameron Barú

Located at the paradisiac Baru peninsula, 75 minutes from Cartagena and member of the TripAdvisor ‘Hall of Fame’ for its certified excellence during 5 consecutive years, the Decameron Baru allows guests to enter a magical experience that will disconnect them from the outside world. The resort is located amidst a tropical forest and its architectural design intermingles with an ecological environment surrounded by many beaches, among which is the popular ‘Playa Blanca’, considered one of the best beaches of the Colombian Caribbean, and the luxurious ‘Playa Puntilla’ beach, where our travellers may enjoy a private club and several sports such as kayaking, rowing, scuba and snorkeling. This heavenly resort is known for its beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, surrounded by an environment of exotic lagoons and mangroves combined with a sea front and the most spectacular multi-coloured coral reefs. All these factors make this hotel an exquisite place to relax, have fun, sunbathe, water sports and more. The hotel design is modern tropical style blending with the natural environment of the area. It is located on the island of Baru at 90 minutes from the international airport in Cartagena. It features rooms with all necessary amenities to make every stay pleasant.

“Posiblemente el mejor hotel de la cadena Decameron. Las habitaciones son muy amplias y cómodas. Me gustó mucho la variedad de veleros disponibles. La comida en los diferentes restaurantes es deliciosa. Las piscinas gigantescas. Muy recomendado.”
— Helmuth Trefftz
“Covid review: it's good, obviously some give and take due to the pandemic but all in all they're open for business. I would suggest calling ahead for food reservations or you'll be "stuck" with the buffet area (still pretty good).”
— Chuck Riedel
